The First National Development Boccia Championships was held on the 18th August in Ballinteer Community School with 8 Athletes selected to compete. Throughout the year, teams of Boccia Players competed together in the national League championships.

Congratulations to the Sandyford Steamers Boccia Team who clinched the National Boccia League Title for 2010.

Ireland’s Padraic Moran, won Gold yesterday in the BC1 Class at the World Championships in Lisbon. The Bray local, sensationally beat home favourite Portugal’s Joao Paolo Fernandez by a score of 3:2 in a thrilling final at the Estádio Universitário in Lisbon’s University complex to take victory and the Gold medal.

As the Boccia World Championships enters its final day, Bray’s Padraic Moran is the sole Irish player to remain in contention for the medals after four days of gruelling competition.

In a frustrating day at the World Boccia Championships in Lisbon, the Irish BC1/BC2 Boccia Team of Padraic Moran, Roberta Connolly, Tom Leahy and Jason Kearney ended the day in the dreaded 4th place following defeat to Spain in the bronze medal play-off match by a score of 10:5.

The Irish Boccia squad got off to a solid start on Day 1 of the CPISRA Boccia World Championships in Lisbon yesterday.

After a very successful round one played over the months of March and April, the second round of the National Boccia League will commence next Tuesday the 8th June.

The CPISRA Boccia World Championships will be starting this Sunday the 30th May in Lisbon and will run until the 10th June.

It is with great sadness that the PCI learned of the sudden passing of Boccia panel member Steven Valentine yesterday after a short illness.

Continuing on from the very successful Boccia league that has run for the last 3 Years, Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland are about to Launch their 4th National Inter-County Boccia League.
