Continuing on from the very successful Boccia league that has run for the last 3 Years, Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland are about to Launch their 4th National Inter-County Boccia League.

Following the success of the Irish squad in the Team & Pair events earlier this week at the European Boccia Championships, the Irish have continued their strong form with no fewer than 5 of the 7 member squad qualifying from their pools in the Individual competition today in Portugal

The Irish BC3 Pair today secured the European Championship silver medal in Portgual, after the narrowest of defeats in today’s final in a tie-break against the hosts. It marked the end of great day for Irish Boccia, with the BC1/BC2 Team narrowly missing out on a medal with defeat in the 3rd/4th place play off game against Spain.

After a tense first days play at the 2009 European Boccia Championships in Portugal, Ireland’s BC1/BC2 Team of Padraic Moran, Tom Leahy, Jason Kearney and Bobbie Connolly just did enough in their 3 pool games to secure a quarter-final match against Norway tomorrow.

The first round of the CPSI Intercounty Boccia League got underway last Friday with Marino School Bray, Cashel Road Dublin and Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown East all getting stuck into their first match.

This year Limerick City Sports Partnership teamed up with the Corporate Games in a quest to demonstrate that sport can be inclusive for all abilities and to highlight the opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sport

Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland are hosting their National Boccia Championships this weekend in the University of Limerick.

The final of the National Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland Boccia League was held last Tuesday the 29th of April in the Institute of Technology Limerick. Four teams lined up to battle it out for their place in the league rankings.

Over the last 2 months Cerebral Palsy Sports Ireland and the Enable Ireland Centres have being running their Intercentre Boccia league. This years league is following on from the success achieved at the pilot programme that was run last year between four centres in the west of the country.
