Irish Boccia player Padraic Moran just won a gold medal at the 2010 CPISRA Boccia World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal.

Following the Irish Paracycling training camp in Limerick last weekend, Cycling Ireland has announced the squad that will represent Ireland at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships in Baie-Comeau, Canada from 19th to 22nd of August 2010.

After a total of 8 days of Boccia Matches, 41 Matches and 19 teams participating, the final of the Cerebral palsy National Boccia League is taking place on Tuesday the 6th July in Ballinteer Community School.

The Republic of Ireland will play host to the Home Nations CP Football Championships from the 1st July to Sunday 4th July. The Championships will be hosted in the grounds of Dublin City University (Dublin 9).

Ireland’s Padraic Moran, won Gold yesterday in the BC1 Class at the World Championships in Lisbon. The Bray local, sensationally beat home favourite Portugal’s Joao Paolo Fernandez by a score of 3:2 in a thrilling final at the Estádio Universitário in Lisbon’s University complex to take victory and the Gold medal.

Following two days of non-stop round-robin play at the Boccia World Championships in Lisbon, Ireland’s Padraic Moran (BC1), Tom Leahy (BC2) and John Cronin (BC3) all look set to qualify from their pools to the knockout last 32 stage.

The first Joint Athletic Nationals, hosted by CPSI and IWA sport is being held on the 3rd July 2010 in Athlone IT.
